Ethical childrenswear manufacturer The Parently Group has announced it will relocate to a new 3-acre site incorporating warehouse and office premises in Bredbury, Stockport in Spring 2024. Spanning 60,000 sq ft to house its 60-strong team, the newly named Parently Park occupies a prime spot on the Bredbury Industrial Estate.
The Parently Group operates 3 brands within the childrenswear market: David Luke School Uniform, Grass & Air and Juco in addition to providing standalone garment decoration services. Known for innovation in sustainability, The Parently Group counts the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development in its trophy cabinet and partners with The Circular Textiles Foundation in the development of the first fully recyclable school blazers and jackets and other uniform essentials. The Parently Group is a Living Wage Employer, and a member of Manchester Good Employment Charter.
The relocation follows over 40 years of operation in Manchester city centre and marks an exciting new chapter for the business as Kathryn Shuttleworth, CEO explains.
“Our current site, close to the city centre, is subject to plans for redevelopment and that, along with our site being split across 4 buildings, limiting our capacity to grow, means that it is time to move. We expect the move to be transformational for the business, offering us the opportunity to centralise our teams into one cohesive office space along with warehouse efficiencies and significantly increased storage capacity. Our customers, new and existing, can expect to see us offering market-leading turn-around times on garment decoration as the operation ramps up and we settle into our new home.
Work is underway to transform the warehouse space and offices. In addition, the new office space offers scope for a range of business-led events, benefiting from 100 capacity event and conference facilities with meeting rooms that will be available for local businesses to hire. Kirsty Conroy is Head of People at The Parently Group and is tasked with making our new location a home for our diverse workforce. Playing an active role in our new community is top of the list when it comes to settling in as Kirsty explains.
“We’re thrilled to be joining the thriving Stockport business community and our team is relishing the opportunity to network and build relationships with likeminded businesses,” explains Kirsty. “We’ll be developing an enrichment program for the people of Stockport including T-Level work placements and education outreach for schools who wish to learn more about our sustainable school uniform in addition to bringing new employment opportunities to the area.”
